To add to the excellent options so far - if the pattern is suitable, I
thread the beads onto the respective bobbin thread ahead of time.
Prior to when the beads are needed, they will hang cooperatively above
the bobbin, on the thread. Slide each bead into place as required -
tie a knot with bobbin thread and a nearby convenient thread if
desired, but I find that  the bead will stay in place once the lace is
resumed. If there are only a few beads, and you don't know which
bobbin you'll need until the time comes, undo the thread from the
bobbin when the bead is needed, thread the bead on. Use a needle on
the thread if necessary, one that the eye will fit through the bead
hole - but I find a short end of thread, trimmed with scissors at an
angle so that the end has a point to it, will go through the bead hole
quite easily.
