You may remember that the University of Southampton in England is closing the Textile Conservation Centre in Winchester - something which would leave the UK without any training facilities for conservation specialists.
Some good news that I have just received on the email list of the Online Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers from Steve Kennett, Treasurer of the Textile Conservation Centre Foundation is that they have come to an agreement with Glasgow University and that the centre is relocating to Glasgow and will be taking students at the beginning of the new academic year.
