Thank you Susan, after 8 weeks my break is fixed, but it is now the longer process of tendon recovery over the coming weeks. Getting rid of one of the crutches has allowed me to get into my cupboard to get a light pillow and bobbins thread etc to work some lace:-) I did take your idea and work a small christmas piece (although I am not happy with the dull dark green thread I used, so will try again with some silk.) I like Alex slept such a lot in the first couple of weeks and then got into my knitting and reading my novels when unable to make lace. Now I just feel so behind with my projects and cant quite get my creative juices flowing properly. My materials also could do with a tidy up, but not possible at this moment in time. I spend lots of time searching for inspiration. Also everything is taking me so much more time at the moment, as well as struggling with bad internet connection!!!!! grrr.

Hello Again! For Agnes, Alex, Sue & others who are suffering through the pain of broken bones--get well soon! This is truly (!!) an opportunity to slow down, take a breath & attend to some of the "will do later" items in your respective lacy job jars. I don't know about you (each of you), but I'm usually so busy "doing" that I don't have time for reading, reflection, organization etc. What better time than now to peruse those old issues of Lace magazine or whatever, sort threads/bobbins, & prick a little pattern for a Christmas bit? Or am I the only one who spends way too much time searching for stuff in my rat's nest of a studio?! <G> Just this week, a friend wanted to see my materials from the Cluny/Vologda/Maltese class with Vera & I had a devil of a time. Sigh, already buried in 30 days. So--enforced down time is not a bad thing! Susan in Erie
