Following on from my previous post, another thing that occurred to me is that one of these fan handles at $7.50 is inexpensive enough not to attract customs duty. As soon as we start doing 'group' orders, for the UK at least, import duties, VAT and Royal Mail handling charges will be added. So if for example I ordered 4, I'd have at least another £15 to share onto the price of each fan; added to the shipping this will probably double the cost of each.
If you speak to her again, perhaps you could ask/explain about this. Apart from filling in a customs form, I don't see there is any extra problem shipping overseas (or Canada? does she include there as overseas) than within the USA. I mention Canada as I know Malvary has just the same problems with taxes of various sorts on more valuable parcels there.
