Hi, Bev,

You could cut the dough in shapes like snow angels we made as children.
Snow angels are made by laying in the snow and swinging arms and legs in
wide arcs. I am explaining for people in the tropics. Very simple shape of
head, wings, skirt. Then decorate with icing, etc.

Or, lay a paper lace doily over them and sprinkle on very fine
confectionary sugar to make them lacy.

These might not travel well to a lace group meeting. However, this might
be a quick idea for a very busy lacemaker to try at home. You could even
buy packaged desserts of various types and sprinkle on the sugar through
paper lace. If the dessert is white, I think you could use something like
powdered cocoa.

Be advised, however, that this suggestion comes from one who does not cook
or bake!

Yes the days are flying by!

I'm making gingerbread houses for the grands.

With dough leftover, I'll make gingerbread men, now I am wondering how
I might make a lace-y gingerbread 'man' - could I get by with a lace
ruff of thinly piped icing or would it look clownish?
Any ideas, anyone, on what else might give a convincing lace effect?
Can you see where this is going - if successful it will be my
contribution to the lace group's potluck.

I suppose the lace effect doesn't have to be edible - though that
would be fun. Machine lace trim for the packaging if all else fails.
