Nancy I have some 6 inch bobbins I made from 3/4 inch stock. They make a nice low pitched "thunk". Then I also have some 5 inches long made from 3/8 inch stock and each different wood, with different densities, make different pitches. I've often thought of just hanging them up in a bunch giving them a whack as i walk past, so I could hear all the tones. Lorelei
