I did make a couple of those ufos for christmas 2010 but the candleholders I
need lace for still were bought several years ago and are now not on the
market. They are the ones with the silver edgings like the coasters and
came from smp lace in the UK. I dont remember if I could have bought a
pattern to go into them at the time, but my DH wanted me to make special
images of bears within them (like the ever hungry bear image from the native
american images). From the days of our living history camping when we
thought the candle holders would be a lovely addition to our camp.
I did make two pieces of lace but didn't have the designing skills or
program to try to create anything good enough so they are sitting in my
folder. What it did do though is allow me to place them over the top of the
candle flounce piece of lace in one of Christine Springetts books and find
that it is just the right size (fantastic after all this time). It didn't
look right to my eye but it is actually just the right size and quite a
pretty piece. I have kept these in mind over the years and have been trying
to work out how to find or create a suitable pattern.

I thought this thread was about the UFO candle holders as shown in
http://www.ateliermb.ch/shops/dentelle/eu/contents/en-uk/d9.html
A circular edging goes under the glass and a candle sits in the
depression in the middle of the glass.

Would someone please explain how to use a candle flounce?? Is this
instead of a bobeche? Or under it? Is the flounce just for show & not
for go?
