You do need to make special arrangements to see what is in the archived collection - which is substantial, by the way, although it is not all Ipswich lace. The New England Lace Group made a field trip a couple of years' ago and were rewarded with a splendid display. If you know you're going to be in the area, I think it would be worthwhile contacting them.
