thank goodness if we create a manuscript on a computer, we have "replace"
and can just type our usual way and then replace removing the second space
in bulk format.  i, too, learned on a manual typewriter way back when and
so am happy with my two spaces.  if i miss one, i go back and fix it.  LOL.
