Dear Allison, 2 things. If you can, take your lace outside to enjoy the weather. I suggest looking for a crochet hook of close to proper size with a really thick handle, perhaps the width of a wine cork. Also, possibly enlarging the pattern and thread to make it all easier to deal with might be useful. Sadly, I do not know of a utube video.
