Hi all. The fair went very well and we had quite a few interested ladies as well as the usual children. The photos are now up on webshots along with pics of the street fair itself and also another album with views of the town from the top of the church tower. The tower is under threat as it is eroding and extensive repair work needs to be done. It's C14th and currently has some scaffolding on part of it as the work needed is assessed. Louise and I fought our vertigo to get up there. The stone spiral staircase was very tight and steep but as always the coming down was worse! The wooden ladders seen in the photos were the worst bit especially wearing a full length dress. This was tucked into my underwear so I could climb up and down! I am glad I did it - the views were splendid and the rain had cleared for a short time. It was incredibly windy up there and I'm pleased the photos are as crisp as they are as it was hard to keep the camera still.

I've never made it up before as I baulked at the wooden ladders 22 years ago and had not dared since! Enjoy!
