Hi Beth, I did the move from Denver to Seattle last year (but my van came on a truck, so I didn't do the road trip part with my kids), so I know about having the packers come in for 2 days and then the truck come. 2 days to pack and 1 1/5 to load the truck - we were so lucky to have a great crew at either end (especially when you have kids and one is a girl) and it was a whirlwind 10 days from go to whoa (with a lull of a few days while we waited for the truck to arrive, but in that time I figured out where to put specific pieces of furniture, so that made it easier when it arrived).
It's great out here - and it's a really friendly and active group. You'll find a lace gathering or meeting to attend at some point each month - there are several smaller less formal groups and then there's the LPS which meets each month. The LPS website is http://www.lacemakers.org/ when you're ready to find us. Come join us - we'd love to meet you :-). Cheers and safe travels!
