Ok i've started to look at the code. I think I can follow roughly what is going on.

Can anybody tell me which is the simplest of the daemon's ? That is probably the best place to start as I attempt to get my head around the whole thing. Looks like it might be a little bit more complex than I had hoped for, but certianly not impossible.

Exactly, so those people of which I am one can not run that stuff. I
tried to build a php with pcntl_fork but was not able to get it to
work.
