Hello,

I'm looking at search (without Sphinx) again. I'm running 0.7.1 from git and
have just pulled to ensure there are no recent updates I'm missing.

The site is here: http://mublog.josswinn.org

Note how this search does not return results:
http://mublog.josswinn.org/search/notice?q=Linux&search=Search

But this search does:
http://mublog.josswinn.org/search/notice?q=equivalent&search=Search

Both are searching the same post.

This search works:
http://mublog.josswinn.org/search/notice?q=open&search=Search

but this search doesn't:
http://mublog.josswinn.org/search/notice?q=mahara&search=Search

despite it searching the same post as the previous search.

a search for my username:
http://mublog.josswinn.org/search/people?q=josswinn&search=Search

returns no results

nor does a partial search for my user name:

http://mublog.josswinn.org/search/people?q=winn&search=Search

I've been able to replicate this on two other installations on both Dreamhost
and Slicehost. The above installation is invite only, the other two are open.
It makes no difference. All installs are using MySQL. Both hosts are running
Ubuntu Hardy 64 bit.

Here's what I said a few days ago, in reply to David Collantes' similar post to
this list.

If there's anything I can do to figure this out, please let me know. Am happy
to help.

Thanks
Joss

Yeah. IIRC, there was more to it than "search is broken".
