Hi All,
When I try to install snv_82 on my 9300 I get part way into the process
(using the graphical installer) when it gives out a very loud "beep" and
then powers down.
"Part way" varies, sometimes I get up to doing the disk layout,
sometimes it's much earlier.
I want Nevada because I want WPA through my iwi device.
The system has a 32-bit Pentium-M CPU, 1Gb RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon GPU,
and an 80Gb Hitachi IDE disk, and it has run S10u1 and S10u4 previously
(and it dual boots to WinXP Pro).
Suggestions?
I'll try a text mode install next time I get the chance, but I suspect
that even if that succeeds it will do the beep-and-stop when I try to
use it.
Oh, and I've tried it with the speed-step thingie locked into the lowest
speed too, it still happens.
And I've tried to find out from Dell what "BEEP" and stop means, but
I've had no luck on the web-site, and don't really want to hang on the
'phone unless I have to.
