Ok. Sorry for the delay, but other hardware problems take much time. I've reinstalled a brand new Sol Exp b_34 release, and the problem is there. Maybe is related to the new mainboard and his SiS 741 Chipset? (no problem before with the MSI via Kt400). I've created /etc/hostname.ath0 to reproduce the issue (again, no problem booting without ath and plumbing the iface from JDS). Started with the -kd option and then given :c at prompt the error is now readable : i see it load many modules, passes ath: ieee80211_gld_ioctl+30 gld: [cut] genunix: [cut] The last line before panic was: d496df84 genunix:ioctl+151 (3, 5308, 807a60, d)
And Then: panic: entering debugger (no dump device, continue to reboot) Loaded modules: [ uppc ufs zfs s1394 nca uhci ip usba specfs pcplusmp random sctp ] kmdb: target stopped at: kaif_enter+7: popfl Then comes back to the [0] prompt and giving :c causes syncing and reboot. Hope i've given enough info as for me that say really nothing and copying everything by hand would have been a really great work (so if you really need what i've cutted, i can provide it :( ) Rebooted in failsafe, removed hostname.ath0 to boot and look for messages in /var as asked from you: (can't see a Failsafe default entry in grub menu in b_34 as there was in previous releases. IT's me again missing anything or has been forgotten? i had to create it by myself) There's nothing in /var/adm/messages or in /var/crash/openbox New strage thing: Booting in multi-user doesn't load ath module at all, and i think is ok Issuing a: ifconfig -a i can see ath0 iface but if i try to do anything it gives a Interface not found . Really weird thing! Then as usual loading the module and plumbing the iface works ok Hope i've said somethibng useful in this long monologue Thx Alex
