Hi,
I am having trouble getting a Cisco 350 pcmia card to connect using
WEP. The card shows up a boot time, from /var/adm/messages:
Jun 6 19:56:23 electra pcan: [ID 772099 kern.notice] NOTICE: Cisco

Aironet 802.11b
Driver: type "ether" mac address 00:0d:bc:17:76:d7
I can plumb the card and the radio turns on and lights start blinking.
After configuring a profile:
# wificonfig showprofile home-wireless
[home-wireless]
essid=myssid
encryption=wep
bsstype=ap
authmode=opensystem
wepkey1=*****
When I try to connect:
# wificonfig -i pcan0 connect home-wireless
wificonfig: failed to connect to profile 'home-wireless'
Using the scan function shows the access points (there are three of
them with the same essid):
# wificonfig -i pcan0 scan
essid bssid type encryption
signallevel
myssid 00:12:17:aa:37:16 access point wep 4
myssid 00:12:17:aa:3c:90 access point wep 5
00:12:17:74:a5:df access point wep 1
And get the parameters:
# wificonfig -i pcan0 getparam
bssid: 00:12:17:74:a5:df
essid: myssid
bsstype: bss(ap, infrastructure)
channel: 6
rates: 1,2,5.5,11
powermode: off
authmode: opensystem
encryption: wep
wepkeyindex: 1
signal: 3
This is all on an IBM A21p with Nevada B40. An IBM T41 with the
internal Intel wireless card works fine in the same environment using
the ipw device. Also I have tried multiple cards, all with the same
firmware version and the same results.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Lloyd Staley
