Interesting because I have just upgrade my home PC and my laptop and the guy who sold me the PC insisted I get an NVidia card, and not an ATI card which had been running fine under solaris (I had to go PCI-Express anyway) because of problems with drivers for the ATI card. Needless to say I got the card and took little notice of this advice and then stupidly bought the Asus A8Ja which has the ATI X1600 rather than an Asus A8Jm which has an NVidia Go 7600 (or something like that).
So definitely go for something with an NVidia card in it. This message posted from opensolaris.org
