Oh. That simplifies it a bit. ;-} If there aren't any others that'd be interesting for Crossbow (DR?), then I suppose it's not required. It just seems odd to me that we're effectively putting hardware into zones and the one common hardware event mechanism we've got isn't actually equipped to deal with zones -- and so rather than fixing it, we're seeing if we can just avoid using it. If the argument were that sysevent is too hard to use or shouldn't be used for new projects, then I can follow that.
