Can you scan at home?
Assume the bcmndis scanning gets your AP at home, and make sure the
authentication mode of the AP is 'open'(shared-key is not supported in
the current stage), then the easy way for you to connect to the AP is as
follows:
#wificonfig createprofile /profilename/ essid=**** encryption=***
wepkeyindex=*** wepkey=***
(this profilename depicts your AP's configuration)
#ifconfig bcmndis0 plumb
#wificonfig -i bcmndis0 connect /profilename/
#ifconfig bcmndis0 dhcp
Since you have already get the wireless router running DHCP, so after
the 'ifconfig dhcp' command returns, the default route is added
automatically.
no other commands are needed any more.
If your AP has no routing feature, that is, it is a purely layer 2
device, you should run pppoe. In that case, an extra ppp interface will
be created and
a IP address provided by the ISP will be achieved. you even need not run
'ifconfig dhcp' command.
