I have a Dell D830(4G mem) with native Intel 4965(8086,4229), my home AP
is wep enabled, under snv_b97, haven't met the issue you described with
nwam.

If static IP can make you online, it should not be iwk driver issue.

Do you mean you have ever get Intel 4965 work OK with earlier Nevada
build? Which one.

You can try below commands:
1. #svcadm disable physical:default
2. #svcadm enable nwam
(with a popup, you can choose your AP, input wep key, if still fail to
get dhcp IP, then do next )
3. #svcadm restart nwam
(when fail again, please post the /var/adm/messages file and output of
"ifconfig -a")
