I'm about to buy a new notebook. Since our institution limits the manufacturers
we can buy without having a lot of paperwork to do. I can choose from Sony,
Fujitsu Siemens and Samsung. Personally I'd go for a Sony Vaio. The preferred
model so far is the AR71ZU. Question is how good is hardware support? So far I
found it has a Marvel Yukon nic (didn't find the exact model yet - myk driver?)
and an Intel WLAN nic (Wifi Link 5100?). The NVidia graphics card should do
fine.
Does anyone have any experience with above model or more precise information
about the hardware (sound so on)?
Alternative to the AR71ZU would be the FW21Z which I would try to avoid due to
the ATI graphics card.
As for Fujitsu Siemens there would be the Celsius 250H and the Lifebook E8410.
Any comments on these?
