I'm suprised you got away with replacing the mini-pci card in the HP laptop. I know certain models of HP laptops will detect third party wireless cards and prevent the laptop from booting at the prom level giving an error message "Please replace the wireless card with HP authentic part". Now which models of HP and/or Compaq laptops are known to do this is not documented. I don't think IBM does this with their laptops and most of the generic laptops do not either. ---Bob This message posted from opensolaris.org
