Bob, Some models of IBM (now Lenovo) do have checks for both the wifi card and the hard disk (my T43p complains about hard disks without specific firmware - IBM supplied disks can have the firmware updated - been there :-) . IBM/Lenovo had several choices of wifi card for my (now old) T43p - the Intel 2915abg and an IBM abg card that has an atheros chipset. Either will work with the T43p. The 2915abg works with the iwi driver for Solaris - I haven't tried the "IBM" card but I expect it works with the ath driver. I don't know what the situation is with the T60/X60 and other newer machines. I do note that the T60 can be gotten with either the Intel 3945ABG or a "ThinkPad 11a/b/g" wireless LAN mini-PCIe card. The Intel card is $5 more. I sure hope the new deal with Intel also includes things like wifi rather than just the server CPU stuff. Stuart This message posted from opensolaris.org
