AIXGL afaik runs on top of the regular X server using GLX, but only NVIDIA has accelerated drivers on Solaris. Direct rendering is what would be used for ATI cards, but the newest cards I doubt much success. Same goes for Intel, they'd use dri and mesagl, but your milage may vary, I don't know if much dri support for those cards has been integrated. Calling alanc!
