That'll be nice - though it's surprising how usable a 7" screen actually
is once you reduce the amount of window-manager decoration and use
fullscreen modes where available.

Not true - my 7" eeePC here has an 800x480 screen, and I believe it'll
drive an external display at 1280x1024.
