(If all of you will excuse my butting in on this discussion from a
late joiner to the fora. From an early discussion with the group at
the Sun NYC offices, I would say sir you are quite correct. The code
base for Open Solaris has advanced considerably since the last
generally available DVD was made and provided for. In fact what's
downloaded may be closer, but IMHO the contents of the download may
actually be the same.

Therefore everything that the Open Solaris side of the house has in
its repository is indeed very new. When Number Eleven gets released
any day now, in all probability it will contain three-quarters of
those bits. Perhaps as close as Seven-Eighths.

However this is only from the opinion of someone who has met Solaris
running on a native system, and argued with a Server of theirs, not
had a chance to run the system normally discussed here on a current
platform.
