We have a varied number of Dell laptops around our company, and although we're (sob) moving towards Ubuntu on them (almost exclusively because OpenVPN works so easily on them) we didn't have any trouble with the wireless cards on them. I know it'll just sound stupid, but you have got the wireless turned on on your laptop? the switch, or in some cases a key combination turns it on or off. If the laptop dual boots to windows, especially windows Vista you might be suffering from the windows powerdown issue i have seen ... it tells the card to turn off until the next time vista boots, i don't know why either ... There is a registry patch around somewhere, but I don't do vista really, so i never tried it. If it's a laptop, remove the battery, remove the power cord, hold the "power on" button for a few seconds and then power up, booting into Solaris first. It's possibly worth a go. I hope this helps, I hope you don't flame me too bad if it doesn't :) Jon -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
