Hm, I don't like this solution, because on the one hand we're
deprecating an attribute so we're saying: "folks stop using this
attribute, we're going to remove it", but on the other hand we don't
really care about what we said and ship a release which makes heavy
use of "isinited" (found 53 times in lps/components).
I don't either, but it's not really that bad. `isinited` was already
marked as private when I got there, so anyone who was using it was
cheating already -- I didn't do any deprecation, just added a new public
API that I hope is what people really were looking for when they found
`isinited`.
