I'm not very familiar with the deb based build system (I'm originally
from an RPM background ;-) ). I was assuming that the build system - or
maybe the PPA system - cares if I patched from 4.1 to 4.2 or directly
from 4.0 to 4.2. Obviously that was silly.

I changed it to what you suggested.
