Thanks for Hamid, Michael and Jack's moral support and fair remarks.
First of all, I retract my last reported feature (selecting a ROI in an image would suppress image update if the image modified). The lack of update was due to my not updating the image properly (!). But to my discharge, I should say that the lack of "Value(Signaling)" method (or "Value" method for that matter) for the image control does not help to keep things simple.
Details for my other questions:
LV7 Vision7 W2K
1) What is the max length for an image (Image Create requires a name) ? My experience is that if you create two images which have names comprised of a common, long prefix (like "Accumulated Intensity Display Panel.vi") and a short suffix (like "2D" and "3D"), the second created one ends up being passed by both structures.
2) It seems that there is an unwanted feature in the Image Control when scroll bars are displayed and you are using selection tools. I remind you of my description of the problem (slightly updated):
- create a (float) image of size 1024x1024, and display it in a smaller image control (say 500 x 500 on the front panel): since the image is much larger than the control, there will be scrollbars, and only part of the image will be displayed.
- using the IMAQ tool palette (I am not using the one associated to the control, but I assume that does not matter), select the rectangle tool.
- draw a rectangle in the visible part of the image
- try to move it with the selection tool towards a hidden part of the image (in fact you don't even have to move the rectange much for the following to happen).
- my experience is that the rectangle snaps to a far away part of the image (maybe to a extreme position of the scrollbars ?) and the scrollbars snap the image to that region in order to show the rectangle. End result: you want to move a selection rectange to a precise position in the part of the image that is displayed, and you end up in a remote region, the rectangle being way off where you intended to move it. It is very annoying, because the only work-around seems to have the image displayed in full (at 1024x1024 an image, that starts being an issue) to be able to do any region selection, and selected region manipulation. Again, maybe I don't understand the control. Maybe this is fixed in 7.1.
If this is not, I think this should be reported as a bug, and I just wanted confirmation from you guys before I go on with this.
Thanks in advance.
And BTW Jack, my first name is Xavier.
X.
