Nor do they care what patients think, since no longer are patients free to
choose their source of health care support.  More and more companies are
offering a single HMO for a reasonable cost and one other fee-for-service type
insurer at a much higher cost.  And those of us on Medicare have even less
choice, since all the Medicare HMO's are essentially the same and for us, fee-
for-service coverage is practically impossible.
I'd think HCFA was the agency to look into this, although I know from my own
three years of working at HEW (now HHS) that "looking into" something can
become a lifetime task.
