HI Vi,

Even the LAPD admitted that these cops committed a despicable act and
they would have been suspended and probably fired even if there had been
no criminal charges brought against them. Remember, it was the STATE of
California that determined there was sufficient evidence to support the
STATE'S contention that a crime had been committed. King was helpless
and they beat the hell out of him. I'd hate to think of a police force
that could not control a man like King who was unarmed and drunk/stoned.
How many cops were there at the scene?

Again, to say that these cops followed guidelines, stayed within the
rules and did not do anything wrong is an opinion that cannot be
justified in the light of the facts, including the viewing of the ENTIRE
tape that was made. Certainly the judicial authorities in the state of
California, the judicial authorities in the Federal government and the
LAPD itself realize this simple fact. That's good enough for me.

The most tragic part of this is that they even HAVE cops who would commit
such a crime. It really makes the good cops' jobs a lot harder.

Bill
