Yep. Satisfying for a Nerd, but it does not get something useful done and hence frustrating for a beginning application developer.

If you do it the other way round you only delay the date
of frustration but you do not avoid it.
That is true if (s)he one day will be confronted with large, complex, unusual or critical tasks.
