If not, they might be just Delphi "Runtime Packages" (a special kind of DLLs that can be attached by Delphi executables).
The concept of "Runtime Packages" is not (yet) supported by FPC/Lazarus. That is why the IDE needs to be recompiled when installing a package that provides visual components.
