Sorry Graeme, I was replying to someone on the Lazarus forums bemoaning the long install times when using an installer from getlazarus.org. I should have prefaced the first line with this information. The reason I posted it here was because I thought it would be useful if other users understood why sometimes things don't work as intended on Windows.
