Hello,

I formally inquired Trolltech about their position for using Lazarus
in conjunction with Qt Commercial Edition, given possible
incompatibilities in Qt's license with the way software is developed
in Lazarus, and they answered that you can use Commercial Qt with
Lazarus.

A copy of the answer follows:

Dear Felipe,

Sorry for the delay in responding to your inquiry.

Trolltech is happy to facilitate your use of the commercial Qt software
in conjunction with Lazarus.

I would be happy to provide you with a specific permission documenting
Trolltech's permission to use Qt in this way. If you would like me to
send a specific permission to you, please provide me with your contact
details where I may send the signed copy (or specify that you would
like a signed copy by email in a pdf format)

In addition, over the next few weeks, I will work with our Product
Management group to write a new FAQ entry on the Developer Zone portion
of our website that states that all commercial Qt users may use
qt-lazarus together with Qt. In the meantime, you are free to notify
other Lazarus users of our response to your inquiry.

Best regards,

Cristy Hamley
