Greg,

Any application that is creating "ICC compliant" display profiles *must*
write normalized D50 tristimulus values in the Media White Point tag now.
That's the law. As far as I know.

For the graphic arts market, calibrating CRTs to true D50 5000 k results offen to a visual yelloish whitepoint.

In this case the case, it is better to calibrate the monitor via hardware control or the video-Luts to 5500 K and make monitor-profile, which has a media whitepoint of D50.
Even calibrating the monitor white to D65 gives acceptable results for absolut colorimetric matches , when the media white point of the profile is still at D50.

The VCGT Tag is very common under MacOS X and all professional applications for monitor-profiling are generating it.
May be it would be helpful for a later version, that the user can choose , if he wants it or not ??

I have very good contacts to GretagMacbeth.
OEM people, which bundles the measureinstrument with some software get special prices for buying OEM versions of the instrument.

I think, if 20 people would have interest on a bundle EyeOne Display with the lcms monitor-profiler, I could arrange some special pricing.
