Hi all, I'd like to build a profile for my printer, but I don't know much about color management, and I therefore have a few questions regarding targets, printer profiles and lcms:
- Is it the case that if one prints a scanned target then, assuming the scanner is perfectly profiled, one can build a printer profile? Is this something that actually works, or is it just good from a theoretical point of view? - Wouldn't it be better to print the (perfect) image file from which the target was generated, rather than the scanned target, to avoid one set of scanning errors? Are such files usually available? Is it possible to create such a file, if given the IT8 reference file of the target? - Can lcms be used to build printer profiles? Is there already an available tool somewhere? Thanks for any answer. -- Xavier Nodet "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin, 1759.
