Hi Everyone,

For all Linux freaks, I think the biggest drawback
of your new profiler is of course the Windows only
restriction.

For the record, the new profiler is usable under Wine (without a native Windows partition), but there are a couple of hiccups. When running the monitor profiling wizard, wine dumps the following to the shell window:

err:win:WIN_FindWndPtr window 0x10030 belongs to other process
err:ddeml:DdeConnect Done with INITIATE, but no Server window available
err:listview:LISTVIEW_WindowProc unknown msg 1041 wp=00000001 lp=00000000
fixme:setupapi:SetupDiGetClassDevsA {00873fdf-61a8-11d1-aa5e-00c04fb1728b} (null) (nil) 00000012

It hangs there until you send it a ctrl-c, at which point it writes:

fixme:vxd:VXD_Open Unknown/unsupported VxD L"seqcal0.vxd". Try setting Windows version to 'nt40' or 'win31'.
fixme:vxd:VXD_Open Unknown/unsupported VxD L"seqcal1.vxd". Try setting Windows version to 'nt40' or 'win31'.
fixme:vxd:VXD_Open Unknown/unsupported VxD L"seqcal2.vxd". Try setting Windows version to 'nt40' or 'win31'.

It carried on doing this, with the number incrementing until you send it another ctrl-c, at which point the wizard appears and works perfectly.

I don't know which of these problems are WINE's fault and which could easily be worked around in the profiler, but it does at least work well enough that I've successfully used this tool to profile my scanner and XSane.

All the best,
