Hi, I checked my notes and the dsk device is the one you want to use, not the rdsk. The error message below about the VIO would suggest that perhaps you're not using an OS in the guest that is patched up enough to support dynamic VIO operations. As for the bootup, do you see errors in /var/adm/messages on the primary domain? What OS version and patch level are you installing into the guest? Also, have you installed the latest firmware and ldm manager?

I was able to export the zfs volume of 10G to the LDom and it worked but i 've another problem related to this. I created another zfs volume of sam size on same pool zdisk1 newpool/ldom2 20.0G 399G 18K none newpool/ldom2/zdisk0 10G 407G 1.24G - newpool/ldom2/zdisk1 10G 409G 16K - and i try to add it following way. root at xxxx06 # ldm add-vdsdev /dev/zvol/dsk/newpool/ldom2/zdisk1 zdisk1 at primary-vds0 root at xxxx06 # ldm add-vdisk zdisk1 zdisk1 at primary-vds0 ldom2 It gives me following error LDom ldom2 did not respond to request to configure VIO device and Secondly if i add after shutting down the Ldom2 it does not give any error. But if i try to install OS on this new disk it gives me following error {0} ok boot Boot device: zdisk1 File and args: WARNING: /virtual-devices at 100/channel-devices at 200/disk at 2: Communication error with Virtual Disk Server using Port 0. Retrying. WARNING: /virtual-devices at 100/channel-devices at 200/disk at 2: Communication error with Virtual Disk Server using Port 0. Retrying. What could be the reason for this ? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ ldoms-discuss mailing list ldoms-discuss at opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/ldoms-discuss
