Yet another update. the SFTP/FTP issue I saw is that apparently there's a file size limit over a virtual NIC from a guest domain of either 1408 or 1409 blocks. SUN is now indicating it's not supported ( ie, vnet tagged entries ) and that it will be in a "future release".
If that is the case, why even allow the creation of vnet3002 as an example and then allow me to do ssh or telnet styled connections !! It seems to me that SUN engineering is NOT testing properly. If the real goal is to move to a virtual environment, then virtualize, including the connectivity and device streams. If not, then stay in the one server - one OS model. It is not condusive to a flexible environment that is attempting to go "green" to have to triple the size of the network infrastructure just to accomodate the virtualization of the server base. This extended model btw - is the same one intended with the new exclusive ip-type for containers..... one "virtual entity" - one physical NIC. Sorry, but this is unacceptable and I am following up with other contacts within SUN - I will keep you posted Regards, Dan -- This message was posted from opensolaris.org
