The mode is empty in all general cases. The mode can only be
set explicitly with a mode optoin([mode=[sc]]), the only valid
value is 'sc', which provides priority handling for Sun Cluster
heart-beat packets. In your case, there is no need to set this
option.

No.

Its probably because the domain has not yet transitioned from OBP to
the Solaris, but failing at very early stage of the Solaris boot.
