Ozone's symbol being 03 would make it the logical progression for Oxygen
(O2) Elemental oxygen is O, but is typically found as a diatomic
molecule, O2.

Correct indeed , nitrous oxide is N2O, also used by gearheads and the
occasional party goer:)
