My suggestions: 1. For QoS: kernel patch for wrr qdisc, imq device, esfq qdisc and appropriately patched tc. 2. For dead gateway detection: Julian Anastasov's patches. 3. For Dynamic Routing: zebra/quagga, bgp, ospf, rip. 4. Libraries so that top, ntop, iptraf etc would work. 5. Any kernel patches if required to run vrrpd/ keepalived for ip redundancy. 6. Patch kernel with NAT helpers for H323, T120 (is it available?), CuSEEME etc - typically Audio/Video conf. 7. UPnP patch so that things like MSN Messenger work well. Guess this will be applicable for most windows based clients. http://linux-igd.sourceforge.net/ 8. Support for hardware VPN accelerators like Intel ethernet cards with VPN on board. 9. Application layer filtering patches. http://l7-filter.sourceforege.net useful for limiting P2P application bandwidth. 10.iptables patched for bridge tables support.

Yes I'll start working on that as soon as the grsecurity & newnat patches will be available for 2.4.222 > If you need help we are willing to do so. Thanks. If they are some new ideas around for inclusion in the 2.4.22 kernel let's discuss this issue. I already have proposal from Mohan (Julian Anastasov's patches for dead gateway detection) and C. Holbrook (IP_VS). > And can you pls add the patch to make soekris working with the kernel? That a third proposal :-) Any other ideas/suggestions floating around ?
