Mike, Thanks for taking the time to implement the wiki beta. Various technologies have a love hate relationship. For example, I find docbook to much of a pain in the butt. There are times when I want to get an idea out and a wiki makes that a snap. As Martin notes many people don't like wikis. One of the ways I have used them is to take repeated mailing list, forum posts, etc and create a user faq as found here http://phpwebsite-comm.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?title=User_FAQ . I use the user's question because that's how they would think of it verses a developer's way of phrasing it. Then I edit parts of the wiki that the question should be addressed in. I point the faq question to this part of the document. This does two things. One, it battle tests the documentation so that it is clearer for the user. Two, it makes the project more friendly to users because instead of saying search the archives, I enhance the documentation and point the user to the FAQ question, etc. In my opinion, there is one of the problems with a mailing list. It may have been answered with a email list but sometimes that email is hard to find. A wiki provides a way to quickly aggregate threaded information in a organized fashion. I am real short of time too. However, I look forward to revising some of documentation files for the LEAF wiki. So with a little vim regex tricks, this page http://leaf.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/leaf/doc/howto/LRP-Serial-HOWTO.txt?revision=1.1.1.1 became http://leaf.wiki.sourceforge.net/Serial+Link+Configuration Regards, Greg -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Fedora - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFF/fHFxyxe5L6mr7IRAjbKAJ9gR7q6UM/EtWIBe2xdjjmwlI419wCgmzLo T4DnaIioxdC18Pn8D+j7vk8= =kRdY -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
