Hi.
You can make new, ''next-experimental' branch for that case. I planned 
to update kernel and related packages after finishing config review - if 
we don't want to do unnecessary work twice.

In any case, I don't see reasons how kernel should affect iptables 
building (except some iptables extensions - like ipset that is ported 
into main kernel tree).
