Simon,SimonPS: Can anyone recommend a good book on LRP? Sure I saw one a few months back, but every bookshop pleads ignorance.
I claim ignorance on the WISP branch of LEAF.
I have seen two things in print on LRP. One was a Redhat 6.0 1000 page book that is at work so I don't have the title. It alerted me to the original www.linuxrouter.org heritage of LEAF. There was just a brief section on LRP. Mike Noyes just published an excellent diagram of that heritage here http://leaf-project.org/mod.php?mod=userpage&menu=9&page_id=2.
The other book I have that I got on the discount rack was Unix Secure Shell by Anne Carasik. This is part of the McGraw-Hill Unix Tools series. The book also mentions the original LRP branch. I do seem to recall the book you are talking about, however. I believe it may even have had a dark blue cover. I recollect that the book you are thinking about covered a number of similar LEAF like distributions.
Your best bet is to spend time googling through the LEAF archives for specific information. Spend lots of time on the LEAF doc pages at http://leaf-project.org/mod.php?mod=userpage&menu=13&page_id=6. Read the c0wz mirror at http://leaf-project.org/devel/thc/. Soon you will achieve critical mass and you will be one with LEAF. ;-)
The last pointer I'd give to you is that the hardware list is for discussion on how to apply new bootable media replacements for hard drives and the like--that's my spin on things. For your specific question, I think you'd want to post to the LEAF-User mailing list.
I hope this helps,
Greg Morgan
