Hi,

I have read FAQs and the archives but could not find this topic:

Two web servers with public IP addresses (allocated by my ISP, say IP1
and IP2) run on a single box with IP aliasing on the same interface.

This box should be connected to my ISP with a LRP router
(please see diagram below).

The ISP has given me a router IP IP3, on a different network.

How can I set up the LRP router to forward requests for both IP1 and
IP2 to the server box?

This looks to me as a faily basic setup because there is only static
IPs with ethernet on both sides and only one box on the internal side
of the router/firewall.

I have used the freesco floppy router successfully to test this simple
setup. But I cannot use it because freesco only:
- forwards one public IP
- forwards requests for the IP of its own external interface

I have downloaded the LRRP 2.9.8 distribution with a 2.2.16 kernel but
I found that Charles Steinkuehler's "INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONFIGURING
NETWORK.CONF" http://lrp.steinkuehler.net/files/packages/network.txt
refer to parameters that are not listed in the script that comes with
2.9.8.

Then I downloaded Steinkuehler's distribution
EigerStein_1_img_EigerStein.exe and tried to adapt it using William F.
Dudley Jr.'s example at http://www.casano.com/eiger/index.html

I found that Dudley's script uses parameters that are explained in
Steinkuehler's instructions but are not supported in the script in the
EigerStein distribution.

Charles Steinkuehler suggested 3 supported solutions in an email
to [EMAIL PROTECTED] on 14 Dec 2000:

1) Add the extra IP addresses as aliases to your external LRP box.
...
2) Put your server machines on a Private IP DMZ
...
3) Setup a proxy-arp DMZ.
...

I decided 3) was best in my case but I might be wrong.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Regards,
Bernard
