I found that Dudley's script uses parameters that are explained in
Steinkuehler's instructions but are not supported in the script in the
EigerStein distribution.
Charles Steinkuehler suggested 3 supported solutions in an email
to [EMAIL PROTECTED] on 14 Dec 2000:
1) Add the extra IP addresses as aliases to your external LRP box.
...
2) Put your server machines on a Private IP DMZ
...
3) Setup a proxy-arp DMZ.
...
DG> I recently succeeded in setting up a Proxy ARP DMZ using W. Dudley's
instructions and generous helpings of assistance from Charles. I didn't hit
any compatibility snags with the scripts. The key, I believe, is to make
sure the scripts you are using are from the LRP-CD package --- not the basic
Eigerstein distro. As is pointed out on casano.com/lrp, it is absolutely
critical to get and use the specific network.conf, network, and
ipfilter.conf files from the LRP-CD distro. You could also just
copy/paste/modify the ones posted at W. Dudley's site ---- but make sure you
get rid of any funky carriage returns or formatting crud that might get
introduced in the process. < --- that's what I did :)
Good luck,
Dan
